Tonight we Crown a Champion

There isnt anything in sports like a Game 7. Somebody will pouring some champagne tonight. The question is who will it be; the Lakers or Celtics? Who do you have and why?

  1. Game 7!!!!!

Your right there's nothing like Game 7!! This is the single biggest game in basketball since Spurs/Pistons game 7 and that was a classic but who saw it??? This game 7 is a sexy matchup with stars galore!! Game 7 between the Lakers and Celtics, now this isn't your fathers Lakers/Celtics series but this has been just as good. They've been going back and forth like a classic boxing match, both taking the others best shots and then answering with there own. Everybody has second guessed there original prediction at least once internally. The headline says it all and that's the beauty of sports...

Now let me get to my prediction... Lakers win!! I'm not going to go on about Kobe, Gasol or any of those guys, I'm going to say Kendrick Perkins is the biggest reason they win. Kevin Garnett may be the vocal leader of that defense but Perkins is the rock. His toughness, and defense will be missed greatly. Rasheed Wallace and Big Baby are more "skilled" as you guys are quick to point out but to me Perkins is more valuable b/c what he brings on the defensive end. Rasheed can stretch the floor and Big Baby is a heck of young player but they can't do what Perkins does and that's going to hurt. Also Kobe will hurt them!! The way he lead the Lakers in Game 6, if you notice Kobe wasn't taking as many jumpers like he normally does. He came out looking for blood!! Look for the same tonight.

Side note, is it when Gasol plays good the Lakers win big?? Or is it when the Lakers are up big Gasol starts to play?? When it's money time is Gasol there?? He scored 2 points in the fourth when he scored 25!!

  2. "I believe." "I believe that." "I believe that we will." "I believe that we win." I woke up with two words on my mind; Game Seven. Tonight we have a clash of titans and matchup of epic proportion. A matchup that we have been waiting for since June of 2008. A matchup that we hoped we received at the end of the season in 2009. A matchup that has 4 sure fire hall of famers (Bryant, Pierce, Garnett and Allen) and two possible hall of famers (Gasol and Rondo). This matchup features a coach that was won 10 championships and looking to stand alone with 11. A matchup where the stars will be out in droves. A matchup where each team has showed weakness and showed its strengths. I cant think of a better way to conclude the NBA season! And if your a fan of sports tonight at 9pm if your not in front of a TV you need your head examined. I expect a game for the ages tonight! I think Boston comes out loose and tries to put extreme pressure on the Lakers to win this game at home! I think we have a nip tuck battle all night long i dont expect any lead to get higher than 10 points tonight! The absence of Perkins i think is huge but it all depends on what Bynum gives you! If bynum plays well no way the Lakers lose! Gasol and Bryant do what they do so i expect nothing less from them! I think for the Celtics offensively Rondo is the key! The Lakers in game 6 clearly wanted Rondo to shoot and said if we are going to lose we are going to lose with Rondo hitting jumpshots. So we will see how Rondo fares tonight between 15 and 22 feet! That is key for boston tonight! But i think Allen , Pierce and Garnett all play well but i dont think it will be enough! Kobe number 5 and Phil no. 11! Time to Live the high life!!!

  3. I think LA will be victorious tonight in a game that isn't very close. It won't be as bad as game 6 but it will be fairly clear all night who is the better team. I just can't see LA losing on their home court with everything on the line. Kobe will get his 30 pts no matter how many shots it takes, Gasol will show up cause its a home game and without that Perkins the Laker lenght will be too much. Too many second chances and unless Boston has an above average percentage from the floor the game will be in hand pretty early.

As far as all this excitement goes maybe its just me and my hate for the Lakers but I'm not head over heels for this game tonight. Maybe it will come when the game actually starts but I don't feel the need to watch all the pregame hype. wake me on July 1st

  5. Ill be honest, I am not a die hard Lakers fan but I have consistently said that Kobe is the best in the business right now. His will to win and skill level is higher than any other player in the league. As for tonight's game, it is ashame that Perkins will be out. He is the anchor of the Celtics tough Defense. If Bynum can play for at least half the game, the Celtics have huge problems because Big Baby will be in foul trouble and Sheed will Tech out trying to play physical. As for the rest of the field, Fisher will continue to chase Shuttlesworth around and Shuttlesworth will continue to be tired trying to guard Kobe. Kobe will continue to challenge Rondo. Artest will continue to hassle and beat up on Double P. KG will probably have a huge game against Gasol. If Gasol can challenge KG's mid range like he did in game 1 and actually go at him its a def win by 10 or more. Without Perkins body and energy I just don't see the C's winning.

  6. Ok we know Perkins is good defensively but lets not make him Hakeem Olajuwon. Perkins who barely plays at all in the 4th quarter anyways is a big deal but its not the biggest deal. I dont think Fisher will do a great job of getting to Allen tonight but i do think Pierce will get his also but I think Artest will do a decent job defensively tonight but he has to make Pierce guard him tonight and try to wear him down on both ends of the floor.

  7. I just hope the refs are fair. In LA they have a tendency to be biased towards the Hollywoood natives.
