Moss to Vikings

Your thoughts on this....

  1. Well last night when i was watching ESPN world series of poker i saw this scroll on the bottom of my screen. I was dumbfounded when i first read it but then started to think about it and i wasnt so surprised. Think of it. Randy was gonna be out anyways right? The whole contract issue that he decided to talk about after thier first win..remember that? You knew they werent going to sign him again. Patriots have a history of gettin rid of people they dont think have the ability to be playmakers anymore.
Monday night it was like Randy wasnt even there?? i mean i know what he brings to the table and he still get double covered and that is part of the reason Wes gets all those touches but still.
You have to think of Minnesota now being a quiet sleeper. Yea they havent started out the way they should have but you now have a guy who will most definately be rejuvenated to play, especially after being traded in week 5. Add that w/ Old man Farve, Rice, Harvin, Shanco(*sp) and they should be pretty good once they get everyone back-as long as its not too late.
Oh on another note i hope NE picks up VJax bc ive been holding onto him since week 2 hoping something would happen...lol but then again AJ Smith is asking for way too much and that brings me to another reason why they traded Randy.. They wanted a little ROI bc they knew they werent gonna resign him.. Hopefully Lord of no rings takes heed to this and allows a trade to happen so i can get some trade bait as well...haha..

  2. My first thought of this were, who the hell is going to beat me online now!!(Madden 11, I play with Vikings online) Seriously, the only real shocker to me is that they did it mid-season.

You have to look at there history.. McGinist, Seymore, Branch, Givens, Samuel, Hobbs... They will let you go the minute you go public with your complaints, your gone. Right or wrong that's the way they do business. They've proved they can win w/o a legit #1 receiver. There receivers for the Championship teams were Deion Branch, David Givens, Troy Brown, Charles and Bethel Johnson. All of them together aren't Randy Moss. They won 3 championships with those recievers... Huh?? Yea they won 3 with those so they should be ok.

On the flip side, they may think b/c they replaced Wes Welker so easily with Julian Edilman last year that Randy will be just as easy... Sorry! You can't replace Randy Moss!! With all due respect, who the hell was Wes Welker before you lined up with Randy and saw no safety ever on his side of the field. Aaron Hernandez? Lets see how good you are now that Randy isn't there. Brady will be fine!!

The Vikings... Great move on there behalf. They were lacking a true #1 so why the most dangerous force in football! Team him with AP and Favre. Scary!!! Think about it, in December they could line up with Moss and Rice on the outside. Harvin in the slot, Shiancoe at TE and ALL DAY in the backfield. 8 in the box? Not anymore!!! Showtime can we change our NFC predictions??

  3. My first thought was s#*$! I am saddened by this move as a Bears fan as things were bad enough for us without this guy being in it with both matchups still to come. This also could prove to be a bad trade for my fantasy squad but that remains to be seen.

As a football fan it will be great to see Moss back where it all started and I hope they give him the 84 jersey back. Moss is a monster and this was a great move for the Vikings. They are extremly dangerrous in all dangerous facets of the offense as they can kill way you want it now.

From the patriots perspective I find this move to just be arrogant and delusional. I understand they are stacked in next years draft but Randy Moss even at the age of 33 don't come along too often. They think this is still the early 2000s but their window has begun to close and that
"Patriot way" stuff isn't gonna work without good players.

  4. After seeing this the first thing i thought was what was Tom Brady's feelings about this. Secondly, i thought what a great trade for the Minnesota Vikings. Thirdly, i thought shit i want Randy Moss to win a Superbowl but that means Favre would also win one; and as a sports fan that would be bad news b/c all we'd here is will brett ride off into the sunset with his second ring! That i dont want to hear. And fourth, I said; this was the trade that will help team showtime make the playoffs b/c now Randy Moss has no bye week; b/c the Vikings were off last week!

  5. This move will work out nicely for Randy Moss and for the Vikings. First off, Moss is currenty playing on a contract year, which is always reason enough for a guy to play hard. Playing for a new team should make have him rejuvenated as well. But Moss will excel in this offense as the clear-cut number 1 option in the passing game, including in the red zone (where the Vikings have struggled so far this season). This will also open the field up for guys like Percy Harvin, Bernard Berrian and Greg Camarillo as well. Once Sidney Rice is healthy, I look for the Vikings to be the team to beat in the NFC (especially with the Packers' running game being non-existent).

From New England's standpoint, I think they're now in a great position to go after Vincent Jackson or even Steve Smith (CAR) to fill the void. Wes Welker's numbers will take a huge hit as he is not meant to be a number 1 receiver. However, look at it from this standpoint. The Pats traded a 3rd rounder for Randy Moss 3 years ago, used him for 3 seasons, and then traded him for the same draft pick. Plus they're looking at a top 7 or 8 pick from the Raiders in 2011 as well. If the Pats can sign V-Jax or Smith to a long-term deal, look for them to regain their supremacy in the AFC East for years to come.
