This blog has been created since I spend all of my life arguing sports with Willis Austin. Being the two knowledgeable sports fans that we are this is our first attempt to include people on the daily banter that often consumes one's life. This blog will often have a daily topic in which you the public will have the opportunity to chime in and give your respective opinions.

1st impression
What were your first impression of the new look Miami Heat?
My first impression of the Miami Heat was that Lebron James is just an absolutely phenomenal player and that the Miami Heat is clearly his basketball team. I read a stat that during the broadcast King James name was said 147 times 41% more than D-Wade. Miami i think will be a fascinating team all year long. I dont think anyone can dispute how talented the team is going to be and im not going to panic after one and say break them up but this team will be good but they have a long way to go to be great. Im interested in seeing how they play tonight against the 76ers. I give them a C for the night and thats only bc Lebron is so damn amazing.
The Heat didn't make the impression they wanted to make, then again how could they? They opened up with maybe the best TEAM(meaning they play together) in the NBA, in Boston!! Those are tough odds for anybody to overcome let alone that hasn't even played a preseason game together. D-Wade has missed the last 3 weeks and to ask him to gel right away with 2 other superstars is tough.
Last night they looked like this won't be as easy as we thought. Who can honestly say after last night that Miami can beat Boston in a series? First of who's guarding Rondo? Then they have no size to match up with Shaq, Perkins, J.O'Neal but lets save that argument for a later post. I wouldn't go out on a limb and say it's Lebrons' team off of one game. That's the same way Boston operates, one game it's Ray and then it's Paul and then KG. That's what Miami will do all year, with a different star leading them each night. What's crazy is they looked the best when 2 of the stars were on the bench and just 1 was out there dominating. Which is what they did all of there careers and that's not a light switch you just turn off. Your programmed that way. Lebron, D-Wade and Chris Bosh can't take a back seat, they're not really effective that way. D-Wade spotting up in the corner while Lebron is running pick & roll on the wing. Really? Bosh(who did nothing last night) fighting for offensive rebounds just to smell the rock and the times he got it he jacked up a jumper just to get a shot off. Eddie House can't guard anybody. James Jones?
Lakers/Boston Finals rematch??
LMAO, it's been 1 game! If they kill Philly tonight I'll be singing a different tune.
My first impession from the Heat's game was my beloved Bulls 72 win record is safe this year. The Heat definitely have the talent and all that and I'm sure they will improve as the season progresses because they just looked unfamiliar with each other. I tweeted that Lebron didn't sign up to have to score 30pts a game for his team to be competitive. D-Wade was rusty and he will no doubt improve as he gets comfy. The team will still be his. As for Bosh I can't see his role anywhere close to what it was in Toronto. That was pretty much who he will be as Shaq said they have a nice 1-2 punch.
The main thing I learned from last night is that Heat road to the finals will not be easy as Boston showed them the east will not bow down to the hype.
