  1. The Phillies miss there heart and soul (J-Roll)...They still have great players but u can't replace Jimmy at the top of the line up....

  2. Yea, Cliff beat me to the punch with his answer... When you take a former MVP out of the lineup who's also the teams catalyst the offer will suffer. No disrespect to Wilson Valdez and Juan Castro but you are no Jimmy Rollins. You take away the head and body can't function.

  3. I guess that seems to be consensus..But does anyone feel that Phillies all though are in tight race in the NL East feel like they can turn the switch on and off? Or that they might a little bored? Just a thought...

  4. Phils will be fine. It's normal for guys to go through slumps at some point of the year. The problem this time is that EVERYONE is going through one. You know things are goin bad when Carlos Ruiz has the highest batting avg. on the team. Plus the Phils have never been much of a small ball type of team. They basically depend on the longball and for years they have had the highest percentage of runs come by means of the long ball. They just went on a streak of games without a hr that hasn't been that long since the 90's. Wait til the bats heat back up. The Phils will win this division by 8-10 games. Watch

  5. This is a tough time of the year w/ teams just wanting to get those last few wins to secure their playoff spot. So its almost like they're pressing. And we all know hitting is more "mental" than it should be. Phillies have done that and now they have a different mindset. Everyone talks about how teams start heating up around this time and those are the teams that excel throughout the post season. I sort of agree w/ this. But i agree w/ u guys.. it does start at the top and although im sure these guys respect the opinions of whoever ya got leadin off...its not J-Roll.. He's the type of hitter that pitches hate and he's the type of table setter any team would love...he can hit for power, he can make the pitcher work, and he can also lay a bunt down whenvr he wants-he's proven. The rest of the guys in the lineup almost feel a sense of relief just seein his name there..so when its not and maybe that other leadoff guy doesnt get on its almost like a trickle effect..bc theres no confidence in being a game changer...its all good tho bc come playoff time you start over(in theory). They'll blow by their NL opponents until they come over to 161st n river...they it'll be a diff story..
