This blog has been created since I spend all of my life arguing sports with Willis Austin. Being the two knowledgeable sports fans that we are this is our first attempt to include people on the daily banter that often consumes one's life. This blog will often have a daily topic in which you the public will have the opportunity to chime in and give your respective opinions.

Monday
Mondays in most cases are the busiest days for sports because you have all the weekend games and events to discuss. So every Monday I want to post a question what were you most impressed or surprised by over the weekend! Was it the Flyers completing the comeback from down 3-0 against the bruins, was it the Celtics winning game 1 in orlando or was Mariano Rivera and Joba Chamberlain blowing the game and allowing Minnesota to win in Yankee for the first time in their last 15 games there. If there is anything else that I missed feel free to add it to the discussion.

After the Penguins were upset my interest in hockey went out the window, the Twins were due to finally beat the Yankees once at yankee stadium and the Celtics i thought were going to win anyways. And does anyone really care about the Preakness stakes that took place on Saturday. My guess is no! With all that being said, I guess the Celtics to me were the most impressive this weekend beating a team that no one thought was ever going to lose!!! hahahaha
ReplyDeleteI gotta say it's the Flyers. Not only were they down 3-0 in the series, they were down 3-0 in game 7 too!! Thats very impressive for the Flyers.
ReplyDeleteDefinintely the Flyers this weekend. Closers will blow saves, and the Celtics used a late run in the third quarter and it was all they could do to hold the Magic off from a comeback. (Dwight's not gonna go 3 for whatever from the floor in game 2). But the Flyers came back down 3-0 when Boston was outhustling, outchecking, and outshooting the Flyers badly. Not to mention the Flyers had to do this on the road and their best goalscorer (Gagne) was hobbling on the ice...
ReplyDeleteSunday's Yankee debacle is just another example of why Joe Giradi has no business managing a baseball team.
ReplyDeleteIf its not one thing its another thing with this guy.
Brett Gardner should be the lead off hitter, and yet he still bats in the bottom of the lineup on most nights.
The only reason he was ever up in the 2 hole, was because of all our injuries.
Anyone with any sense would have Cano at the bottom of lineup, and when healthy the yankee lineup would look like this.
Gardner
Jeter
Tex
A-Rod
Granderson
Posada
Swisher
Cano
and whoever our DH would be.
Not only can he not manage a lineup, he can't manage a rotation either, why is taking Vasquez out of the rotation when he finally gets it together against Detroit when he was lights out.
He is a joke.
GO COLTS, YANKS, BULLS, AND THE U!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteNo Need to worry or panic when it comes to the Yankees bruh....We will be fine. Tex has woke up. A-Rod seems to be turning the corner. Grandy is on the way back. The starting pitchers been slapped around a little but that happens throughout a long season.
The U gave Randy Shannon an extension, if he doesnt have us in a BCS game this year he needs to be fired. Youth is no longer an excuse!!
I HATE ALL PHILLY SPORTS teams!!!!
Do you think Bron will be nervous about coming into Jordans backyard(Chicago) and moving in MJ's shadow for the rest of his career?..I think he might stay away for that reason.
Greg Im not the biggest Giradi guy either but he isnt my teams manager. I think he takes his Northwestern degree to seriously and thinks he is smarter than the entire world. For him to pull vasquez is after a good start is insane! they are treating him as if he jared wright!
ReplyDeleteAnd dom, I really honestly believe that Lebron wont be in Chicago next year even though im hoping for that. I think he is just gonna sign a 2 yr deal with Cleveland and become a free agent again when the Nets go to brooklyn. I think he will take 2 more chances at tryin to win a Championship in his hometown and then its al over after that!
Welcome to the blog Warner but I have to come at you already...
ReplyDeleteRobinson Cano at the bottom order?? Are you kidding?? Cano had 200 hits last year and he's been the Yankees best hitter thus far. He's going to be the best player on the Yankees pretty soon and he's a superstar in the making.
I agree that Gardener should be at the top of the lineup but maybe you should call Derek Jeter out for grounding into so many double plays. That's why last year he was moved to lead-off and they dropped Damon to the 2 hole. Joe Girardi is a good manager and he'll be there for a while so get used to him.
To Showtime and Warner..
ReplyDeleteVazquez's start at Detroit was his one good start all season. Outside of that start, he's never made it out of the 6th inning. I absolutely hate that the Yankees picked him back up.
I don't agree with how Girardi is dealing with the pitching issues, but at the same time I'd rather see someone else out on the mound besides Vazquez
Tell me how you rip a manager that just lead your team to another championship? Cano bats so high in the lineup, because he is one of the best hitting 2nd basemen in all of baseball. Look up his 09 numbers, and look how he has started off. All hitters go through ups and downs. Baseball is a failure sport. Mark Teixera struggles out of the gate every year in April, do you move him down because is struggling; no you let him hit through it.
