ALCS Recap...

What are your thoughts on the series? How did the managers do, the bullpens, the starters, the lineups??

  1. My first thought is domination, the Texas Rangers absolutely dominated the Yankees. If it wasn't for the 8th inning of game 1 there's no doubt in my mind that the Rangers would've swept the Yanks. We beat them in every phase of the game, pitching(both starters and bullpen), hits, power, and baserunning.

Like I stated in the preview(pat myself on the back) that the Rangers had the best lineup in baseball. It was abundantly clear, but the baserunning and defense started to show and we look like the best team in baseball!!! (Ill get back to that)

    New York.

They looked out of there league in every game except game 5. They didn't get any production Mark Tex and A-Rod. Cano was the lone star for the Yankees and you can't beat this powerhouse alone. One thing I didn't like that Joe Girardi did was just throwing the towel in to Josh Hamilton. He gave him 5 free passes in the series, with "Vlad the Impailer" batting behind him. Vlad had a monster year, maybe comeback player of the year. Girardi was just fueling the fire, by giving the team more and more confidence by showing that he's afraid of Josh! Compare that to Cano who was just as hot as Josh but he didn't receive one free pass, even batting behind A-Rod.

I don't know if this team will be beaten. The best lineup in the game, the best playoff pitcher ever! With other really good starting pitching... World Series Champs??

  2. When i made my predictions; i picked the Yankees but i had a feeling in my gut that texas would win but didnt have the balls to pull the trigger on the pick. Go back and read how i raved about Hamilton and how he would have a brilliant series. But thats not what the post requires. Texas clearly looked like a better, younger, faster team than the Yankees. Texas outclassed the Yankees for maybe all of 10 innings this entire season. Other than the Boston comeback in 2004 Yankee Stadium had never been emptier than it looked in games 3 and 4 of the series. Giradi had an horrible series managing his bullpen. Really Boone Logan to Josh Hamilton twice. Nelson Cruz had a brilliant series also. Texas flat out dismantled the Yankees. Thats all i have to say about that.

Why hasnt anyone in the media ripped texieria. If A-rod had went 0 for an series he would be a on the perverbial chopping block. The New York media would have his head today. Texieria should be getting killed here as well the likes of Nick Swisher. Who has had two abysmal postseasons insert Jayson Werth next worth.
